When you really want to paint something in the house peach but you’re too scared to paint an entire room, paint the closet!!! I must admit I am terribly indecisive when it comes to picking paint colors! I will sit on a color for weeks feeling torn! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel proud that I fairly quickly picked this color, chose to trust myself, and went with it. And the result is a beautiful fun creamsicle color that I love! Next step (the FUN part!)… organizing the closet!!!! 🙌🏼🌈💕✨🤩 If there’s anyone else out there organizing a space, have fun with it, […]

This is our new spice drawer! How cute are these mini-sized air-tight containers?!!!! While I think they are meant to stand upright, they lay PERFECTLY at an angle when used in a drawer!!! They’re also wide-at-the-top so you can easily fit your measuring spoons inside!!! I used thin tension rods that were $2.37 as dividers to hold spices in place so they don’t slide around when the drawer is open/closed (because that can be annoying)!!! Containers are labeled and alphabetized. If you’re looking for ways to organize your spices, this system works like a charm!!!! These are the spice containers!!! […]

Earlier this month I told Ed I was planning to fully enjoy the holiday season this year- no moving, no storage units, no renovations – just enjoy now that we’re finally settled! Obviously I still need to work and have responsibilities, but plan to do more fun things these next few weeks! This past weekend I started my fun by doing a puzzle- a colorful, organized, each-doughnut-is-labeled puzzle to be exact!!! When I dumped the puzzle out on the table to start, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the 1000 pieces!!!! My mind instantly went to “ok Alejandra, start with […]

Just popping up to say hello with Mojo! Sorry I haven’t shared more on Facebook lately! I need to prioritize social media more!!! If you’re reading this right now, thank you for being here! I hope I’ve shared something to help you stay organized on your journey! And I hope you’re having a great fall so far organizing something fun and colorful like all these pretty leaves on the trees behind me!!!

I reorganized our silverware drawer a couple weeks ago using these “strawberry milk” colored organizing bins and have been thoroughly enjoying grabbing a spoon ever since!!! If you need a great place to start getting organized, tackling a small drawer is an excellent place to ease your way in!!

Always feels good to finish organizing a space!!! This is my side of our bathroom vanity. If you need to organize yours, don’t aim for this or compare yours to mine. Aim to first categorize everything while removing the clutter. Then aim to assign homes for your categories. Then aim to find products (if you don’t already have them) to maximize space and make things easy to access. Then aim to label if you need help remembering where things go!! One focused step at a time will eventually get you to your beautiful finish line! You got this!! For more […]

This post has nothing to do with organizing except to track your workouts (in an organized manner!) so you can visually see your progress! Instead, it’s about finding your motivation. I used to be one of the most inconsistent people when it came to working out. I’ve worked with a trainer for accountability, tried home DVDs, tried group classes, worked out with friends, but nothing really “stuck” on its own until about two years ago when I realized that exercising lifts my brain fog (not a fan of brain fog AT ALL!!). Since then, I don’t see exercising as a […]

To anyone looking for kitchen canisters that are airtight, clear, have a secure flat lid so the top can be labeled, that is lightweight, and will sit nicely in a drawer that isn’t completely flat with sides that aren’t completely straight lol… These bins are highly recommended! Happy organizing from my pantry to yours!

This past weekend I helped Ed organize his office. We spent most of Sunday shuffling papers, rearranging furniture, setting up systems, etc. When it came to the closet, we were both tired but determined to finish. I pulled down a green shoe box from the top shelf to sort through and Ed quickly said “just skip that box”. Filled with curiosity, I asked why so I could understand. He said something like “it’s not important, let’s just move on.” I could sense his frustration with the mess and how he wanted to just be done with it all. I then […]

Anyone else here a personal growth fan?! I totally am and I’m noticing my book collection is slowly growing! Give me a book on a challenge I’m struggling with and I’ll read it very carefully front to back, take notes, draw photos/diagrams in the margins, etc.! But what’s better than accumulating knowledge is SHARING KNOWLEDGE!!! This stack of books I once needed, now I don’t. If I need this information again, I’ll seek it out while choosing to trust it’ll find it’s way back to me again, somehow. For now, off they go back in circulation to the next person […]

In case anyone wanted to know… drawer dividers work really well for organizing spices in a drawer! Tension rods would do the trick as well and are often less expensive!

Soooo much of organizing involves taking a step back and trying to decide like me with this closet here!!! If you find yourself stuck in a rabbit hole trying to make a decision (yet not making progress), one option to end the agony is simply picking the option that FEELS GOOD. See how it works for a week, then go from there. Another option is to take the pressure off yourself and remove all expectations to have things a certain way and simply focus your time & energy on making the space FUNCTIONAL! As time permits, improve the space. Luckily, […]

I saw this sign this morning and wanted to share

In a world filled with beautifully organized file cabinets all over social media, have no shame, the above filing cabinet still works!! It boils down to your priorities and whatever works for YOU. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it! But if it is, see my filing cabinet video from back in the day. 5 years later and this system is still going strong! What’s the status of your filing cabinet? What’s working? What’s not? Leave a comment below.

Wise! The term “letting go” implies losing something but it’s all in our perspective. When it comes to letting go for decluttering, we either focus on the LOSS (losing a physical item that likely cost us money at some point) or we focus on the GAIN (gaining freedom! peace! relief! more space! less to maintain!). The choice is yours! Focus on the gain and you’ll soar! Thank you for sharing this beautiful image, Alexandra Elle

I was just switching my small round checklist stickers from April and May (happy May!) and it dawned on me that I haven’t shared this system so here it is… Here’s how I organize my small round stickers that I use for tracking things on a checklist/chart – in an accordion organizer from the dollar store (which would also work well for regular stickers or receipts!). If you can’t find this exact organizer, this one is even better. Stickers are organized by category! Tabs are labeled! I switch the type of sticker every month depending upon the holiday/theme in the […]

The couple in this stock photo looks like they’re deciding which color organizing bin to buy. Or maybe they’re bickering over what will be stored inside! Regardless, there must be at least one person reading this post that has disagreements with their spouse about something related to “getting organized.” If you’re reading this and can offer help to others, what’s your best advice for keeping peace in the home when it comes to getting/staying organized with your spouse? Getting an “excellent fit” when it comes to finding organizing bins can be exhausting when it’s filled with (what feels like) endless shopping and returning!!! If you don’t have this kind time, patience, or will… by all means, keep it functional and simply find bins that fit, gets the job done, and call it a day!! On the other hand, if you have the same desk as me (Pottery Barn Bedford), I’ve already done the exhausting work for you! These bins pictured above fit like a GLOVE (minus 1″ in the back)!!! To anyone else that has worked hard to […]

A stack of receipts from years ago… what would you do? 1) sort through every single one in case there’s something you need! 2) blindly get rid of them and trust that if you haven’t sorted them out yet, you prob won’t need them! 3) start by sorting through *some* of them and then make an educated decision as you go! 4) procrastinate and do something else more enjoyable!!!! or; 5) something else I can’t think of right now!
