ALEJANDRA.TV IS NOW ORGANIZE & FLOW

×

In about two months, we’ll be celebrating 13 years of helping people declutter and get organized.

And one of the things I’ve learned over time is that what can make getting organized difficult is that some people are simply too comfortable. They value comfort over everything else.

Sure, it’s uncomfortable to live with clutter. But it can be more uncomfortable to sort through the piles and make confident decisions!

A person who values comfort over everything else is likely to do what’s more comfortable – continue living with clutter.

While there’s nothing “wrong” with valuing comfort over all else, there’s just little progress when we hang out in our comfort zone for too long.

As a person who values comfort myself (though it’s not #1), these people are actually short-changing themselves!

What isn’t always obvious is, if a person can get past the discomfort of decluttering (which is temporary), there is actually more comfort to be had on the other side – a more organized home!

An organized home where you can find what you need (when you need it!) will always be more comfortable than the daily discomfort of a house filled with clutter.

If you value comfort, you have two choices:

1) Enjoy the immediate short-term comfort of avoiding the clutter for long-term discomfort.

2) Embrace the short-term temporary discomfort of addressing the clutter for long-term comfort.

Seems like a no-brainer to me. #2 brings much, much, much more comfort in the end! And peace, calm, relief, freedom, etc..

Comfort zones are comfortable. They’re safe, secure, and predictable. But we must go beyond them if we want to make progress.

If you’re ready to declutter so you can have even more comfort, start by asking yourself these 5 questions.

When we can get comfortable being uncomfortable, we discover how beautiful life can be!

Love,
Alejandra
