Recently I created several organizing products just with stuff from around the house. I did this because I wanted to show you that you can get organized on any budget. And, one of the items I created was this craft ribbon box holder/dispenser!
DIY Ribbon Organizer = Shoe Box + Skewer Stick
To make this ribbon organizer I took a small child’s shoe box and I put a shish-kebab stick through it (I literally just took a shish-kebab and poked it in though one end of the box and out through the other.) Then I put spools of ribbon across the shish-kebab stick and added little holes in the front of the box to feed the ribbon through.
Now when you do this, you have to make sure that the hole to feed the ribbon through is really small or else the ribbon is just going to fall back into the box. Since the holes are small, I can just pull the ribbon and it comes out nice and slow.

As for the sharp edge of the shish-kebab stick sticking out, I just covered it with a piece from a plastic wrap container (that I showed in the previous do it yourself organzing video). I just glue gunned the little plastic tip right over the sharp point!
