Here’s What I’ve Been Up To…

I’m sitting here at my desk on Monday afternoon and finalllllllly feel like I can take a break and write an update on what’s been going on since the new year rang in! Ever since January of this year I’ve been juggling a lot of “big” projects. And for awhile I’ve been meaning to sit down and write a blog post to update everyone on what’s been going on at Alejandra.tv. However, other things took priority and writing this blog post got pushed to the back burner. In fact, when I started writing this post just now, I saw a “draft post” dated 3 months ago with the same title! Better late than never.

Ok, so what’s been going on at Alejandra.tv? A lot of stuff!! The past four months have been non-stop, which is why you might be hearing crickets on my Facebook page or seeing fewer videos posted to my YouTube channel. I’ve been busy working on lots of big projects that have been totally time consuming and have forced me to prioritize. Just last week I started to feel like all of my open projects are finally approaching the finish line. I can’t tell you how good it feels to work on a big project for months and finallllllly see the end in sight. Wow! What a relief. Anyway, here’s what I’ve been up to:

I’ve been updating the Power Productivity Program!

Last year we released my full organizing program (the Power Productivity Program) that shows you how to get organized and stay organized. I just spent almost five months improving, updating, and adding lots of videos to the program and creating tons of printables to go along with the material. I must say, the program was awesome before, but now it’s even more awesome!

In the update, all of the concepts I demonstrate are visually shown in videos (the same style as my YouTube videos). For example, I show my to-do list process, and in the program you can watch me step-by-step (on video) setup, update, and use my to-do list. In another set of videos you can see me completely transform a room from messy to organized, step-by-step.

Preparing for the videos, setting up for the videos, getting ready for the videos, and filming the videos was incredibly challenging. Have you ever talked for 8 hours straight on camera?!? Being the introvert that I am, it was so tough, but fun at the same time. Filming just one video requires so much work. And the program update includes roughly 40 videos! It’s been a long few months but I’m so excited for everyone to watch them soon!

We launched our new website!

In case you haven’t noticed, our website got a facelift! We actually started updating our website back in June of 2012 and just finished a major update in the end of March 2013. We re-branded the site and completely reorganized all of the content (photos, videos, products, etc.).

It was a huge project that took a long time to do. Thankfully we have an amazing web developer and designer that understands my style and vision (and has patience with my perfectionism!!).

We recently started another major website update earlier this month. We are updating another major section of our site in preparation to launch new products! I’ll share more details when the update is done!

My favorite part of the new site is our new homepage! It just screams organization, color, and fun (which is what I totally envisioned!).

We’re launching a new video series!

Last month we finished filming a new video series that will be available on our site soon. I’m sooooo excited for this!! If you enjoyed my 7-day video series, you will loooove the new video series! We are hoping to release the video series at the end of May/early June (hopefully sooner!) It will be free just like the current video series.

Here’s a shot from the second video in the video series! Out of all of the videos we filmed, this was my favorite one. For some reason I had so much energy in this video and it was after 8 hours of filming!!

We launched the Knowledge Base in the Members Forum

You might not know that I have a private Members Forum unless you are a member of the Power Productivity Program. The Members Forum is where I answer member organizing questions each week. It’s also where members post before/after pictures, share organizing advice & stories, hold each other accountable, etc. It’s a great place to find motivation and inspiration to get you excited about organizing!

The Members Forum is also where my monthly giveaways are. People often ask if I do giveaways. Yes! I do monthly giveaways, but they’re only for members. Once a year I usually do one big giveaway open to everyone on my Facebook page or subscribed to my YouTube channel. I’ll probably do a big giveaway in Summer/Fall 2013.

Anyway, earlier this year we launched the Knowledge Base within the Members Forum. The Knowledge Base is basically a searchable database of your questions & my answers. All of the questions, answers, and advice are organized by category (of course), which makes it easy to find what you’re looking for!

I’m launching a new YouTube Channel!

For a while I’ve been considering a 2nd YouTube channel for “a day in the life of Alejandra” or “a day in the life of an organized entrepreneur.” It will of course relate to organizing, but it will probably be more casual check-in’s with my handheld video camera and possibly even wearing sweats around the house with no makeup, lol, but still giving organizing tips such as “Here’s how I get started on Monday morning,” or “Here’s my Sunday night routine.” Starting a second channel has been something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile.

Last year I asked everyone on Facebook if this is something I should do on my current channel (@HomeOrganizing) or start a new channel. The majority vote was for a new channel dedicated to “vlogs or check-ins” so I created my new YouTube channel this morning (@AlejandraCostello). I haven’t done a video yet but plan to do so soon!

Speaking of YouTube videos, just last week I uploaded my 100th video to my YouTube channel! It was also my 2 year YouTube anniversary! Ed and I (and Mojo) celebrated at a winery! Here’s a picture Ed took of Mojo and I!

 

 

 

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to in the past few months. Lots of new projects and lots of new videos are on the way! 🙂
