Looking at a wall or aisle of towels at the department store is like eye-candy (at least to anyone who is nuts about organizing!). But have you ever wondered how the department stores get the “perfect” fold in their towels?! It’s actually a LOT easier than it looks. In fact, although I hate folding clothes, I love folding towels. Why? It’s simple, fast, and the end result is beautiful. That said, here’s how I fold towels to make them look “department-store perfecto!” How do you fold your towels? Leave a comment below or create a video response and let me know 🙂

Hi everyone. It’s Alejandra. And I’m going to do a quick video today and share with you guys how to get the perfect department store fold in your towels. Do you know what I mean when you walk inside the department store like Macy’s or even like Nordstrom Rack or Marshalls or T.J. Maxx and you walk down that isle or you walk towards that wall of towels and everything is just folded perfectly and you feel really bad like taking a towel down from the shelf because you know once you open it, you’re not going to be able to fold it the same way they have it folded and you’re just going to throw it back up there and it’s going to be messy and it’s going to ruin the wall of organization.

Well now, I’m going to share with you guys how to get that same fold and it’s actually quite simple. If you’ve seen my jean organizing video or my dresser, organizing dresser drawer organizing video then you know I don’t like to fold. I actually hate folding. But I love to fold towels because they’re so simple to do and it’s almost like instant gratification when you fold that towel so quickly and you see a perfect folded towel right there in front of your face.

How to Fold Towels like the Department Stores

So here’s how to fold a towel. OK. So the first thing you want to do when you want to fold a really like department store perfect towel is lie your towel flat on the ground. And this is a really weird angle so I’m just going to try and do my best here but lie your towel down on the floor. And the second thing you want to do is fold it in half. So you want to fold it just like this. Just fold it in half.

And then after you fold it in half then you want to take both of the sides and fold them in just like this so one side and then the second side and then you want to fold the top of the bottom part on to the top of bottom part. So if you’re folding the top part, fold it on to the bottom part just like this. Just like this. And then you get that really pretty fold like that in the front and I’m going to show you exactly what it looks like when there’s a stack of them and you can see how department store perfect it really is. Let me grab the other two.

Here’s what it looks like when you have three perfectly folded towels stacked together. Isn’t it so beautiful? This is how most people fold their towels. They just fold them in quarters. And I mean there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s totally functional. Don’t get me wrong. But the other way just looks a little bit nicer and kind of makes you smile when you open up your linen closet. But this is the way that most people fold it. They just fold it in quarters just like this.

OK. So that’s how you fold a towel. Super simple, right? Like don’t you want to run to your linen closet and refold all your towels to get that perfect fold in the very front? It’s all about the perfect fold in the front so when you open up your linen closet, you just see all those perfect folds in the front, if that makes sense.

Anyways, that’s how you fold a towel. If you want more organizing tips then visit my website at Alejandra.TV. I will see you guys soon. Bye!
