ALEJANDRA.TV IS NOW ORGANIZE & FLOW

Here’s a video on how I organize my large collection of greeting cards (plus the cute labels on the bins). Yes, I have a lot of greeting cards and stationary, however, I used to be a big writer and sender of cards (not as much anymore which means I can probably downsize). This organization system works well if you have a large amount of greeting cards. How do you organize your greeting cards? Leave a video response or comment below and let me know- I would love to see!

Hi guys, it’s Alejandra. And I am sitting here in my home office and I was about to write a thank you card and send it out this afternoon and when I was going to my greeting cards which is right below and I’m going to show you guys in a minute, I realized that nobody has seen how I organize greeting cards. So it’s a great opportunity to grab my camera and show you guys how I store them.

But the main thing that I want to show you guys is the labels that I created because the way I organized them is very similar to the way I organize other things in my house which you guys have seen in videos. So let me show you.

Greeting Card Organization

So I organize all of my greeting cards by category. So I have holiday and invitations, thank you, blank cards, specialty (new baby, wedding, get-well cards & sympathy), and then birthday. So I organize them by category. That’s the first thing I do.

Greeting Card Organization- If you've got a lot of holiday & greeting cards, keep them organized in shoeboxes

Greeting Card Organization & Cute Labels for Bins

And you probably don’t want to use shoe boxes if you don’t have this amount of greeting cards. Like I realized I do have a lot. Like I can totally downsize this bin because I will never use this amount of blank greeting cards and the majority of them aren’t really that cute. Oh, those are cute but a lot of them aren’t cute like some of them were given to me. I don’t know. I’ve just acquired them throughout the years.

So I can really just go through and downsize that bin. But anyways, what I really want to show you guys are these labels.

How to Make Cute Labels for Bins

So instead of just grabbing your label maker and printing holiday invitation and sticking it on the bin, you want to always think about how you can dress up the label or at least I like to think of that because it just adds another factor of cuteness to your organizing systems and that probably sounds really silly. But that’s what it does. It just makes it extra cute.

So what I did here is I got these name tag stickers from the teacher aisle at Staples and they have, I think they have like four or five different types. I like these because they were colorful and they were kind of bold and I like bold statements. So I just stuck it on the bin and then I printed holiday invitation from my label maker and then stuck it on top. And now, it just makes it extra cute like I said. It’s not as boring as just like a label like this.

And you guys are probably wondering why do I label my shelves when it’s very clear that there are greeting cards inside of this cabinet? The truth is, I spent the first – so you guys know I’m a professional organizer and I teach people how to organize, I spent the first three years of my business travelling to people’s houses and helping them declutter and get organized and we would always label the shelves, label the drawers, label like the sides of things. So when something was taken out from a cabinet or a drawer, the person would know exactly where to put it back because the label or the drawer was labeled.

So, I got into the habit of like labeling every single thing. So even though I know that greeting cards are down here, I still like to label like the bottom of the drawer or whatever. And I know it’s silly and people make fun of me. They’re like, “Don’t you know where things are?” I do but I just like to do it and I’m in the habit of doing it now.

Anyways, that’s how I organize my greeting cards. I’ll see you guys soon. Bye!
