One way to get organized (and teach others where things belong) is to play a matching game with color-coded dot stickers. For example, see the spices below. This pantry belongs to one of my favorite long-time clients. We put color-coded dot stickers on her spices then put the same colored dot sticker on the label so people in her house knew where the spices belonged. For example, if you remove a “green” spice, it’s pretty obvious where to put the green spice back (obviously in the green section, duh!). The same “matching game” concept works for kids books, toys, things in the garage, office, etc. Just another clever/intuitive way to teach people in your house where things belong 🙂
