Hi, everyone. I’m Alejandra from Alejandra.TV. And in this video, I’m going to show you how to organize all the things you buy in bulk.

But first, if you’re looking to get organized, you can check out my free organizing video series.

How to Organize Things You Buy in Bulk

When it comes to buying things in bulk like Ed and I, we go to Costco and we – we don’t go a lot of times because it’s always so crowded and people are running into your ankles and stuff. And so when we do go, we stock up on items so we don’t have to go that often. And also, we buy things that are on sale so we take advantage that it’s discounted and stock up and stuff. So, I’m going to show you where I have a corner inside my house that has all the items we buy in bulk and how I organize it.

Over here, this is the corner inside my basement that has all the stuff we buy in bulk. And this looks like really organized. Like when I see it I’m like, “Oh, this looks beautiful.” It’s because when you walk inside our house, the layout of our house is so awkward. You walk upstairs and you’re on this like landing spot and this is like the second thing you see when you come inside the house. So I always try and keep this really organized since this is like the second thing you see in our house.

Let me just show you what I did. The first thing I did was just get really sturdy shelves. You can find sturdy shelves really at any place that sell shelving. I like these ones because they’re pretty simple to set up like all you do is you have these poles and you put these shelves on and then they are adjustable like you can move them higher or lower depending upon what you’re storing. It’s great for stored space.

But what I recommend is finding a corner inside your house to store all the bulk items, maybe it’s in your basement, maybe it’s in your garage, just find a corner. This is obviously where I have my stuff. But let me start at the top and show you exactly what I have.

Keep Like Bulk Items Together

Up here, I just have extra coffee and then there’s toilet paper. So a lot of things you see here, they are in other spots in the house also. So for example, there is toilet paper in the top of my linen closet, there’s coffee obviously in the kitchen, there is paper towels, there is like one or two rolls at the top of the pantry, and then all the overflow just comes down here in the basement on these shelves. So just because it’s here doesn’t mean this is the only place where it’s stored and stuff.

And then down here, I have – this is like a lot of extra toiletries. So Ed and I are really particular with like what kind of toiletries we use in the bathroom and stuff. And so, when we find them on sale, the brands that we like, we always stock up because we are particular. And also, a lot of the stuff here is from Trader Joe’s. We live far away from Trader Joe’s. And so when we make the trip which is like 30 minutes away to go there, we stock up so we don’t have to go back that often.

And so what I did was I just kind of categorized them into bins there is soap, there is shampoo, there is sandwich bags, there is wipes and stuff. Yeah. And that’s kind of all I did down there.

And then down here, I’m trying to get away from using a lot of water bottles because they’re – it’s just better not to use water bottles. But this year, we had a lot of storms in this area. And every time there is a storm, you rush to the grocery store, there was like never any water bottles or the ones they did have were really expensive or they’re like sparkling water and stuff. So I figure, during a non-emergency, I’m going to stock up on water bottles so when an emergency does come, I’m ready, stocked, and prepared. So down here is we just have water bottles.

And then at the very bottom shelf, it’s just like tissue and laundry detergent, dish detergent, and really that’s it.
