How many times have you been psyched that you found the cutest little set of bins? So you buy them, bring them home, put them on the laundry shelf…and never touch them again.
Buying Another Storage Bin Won’t Work Unless You Do
A lot of times we think investing in another organizing bin will “magically” solve our problem with clutter. Think again.
The reality is that the storage bin (or whatever organizing product you bought) will only solve 30-40% of the problem while the other 60-70% is dependent upon YOU.
Yep. You have to set up the system, use the system day in and day out, and periodically tweak the system so that it continues to work for you.
Unfortunately, buying the bin was the easy part.
But if it’s any consolation, you’re almost half way there! Don’t drop the ball now. Decide to make those bins work for you instead of against you.
Don’t leave them on the shelf to become absorbed into the conglomeration of items already there. Break them out and use them for your benefit.
You had a plan for them when you brought them home. Make them useful.
And if for some reason, your plans have changed or your bins are no longer going to work for the space you had envisioned, re-purpose them, return them, sell them, or donate them to someone who will put them to good use.
Whatever you do, remember this going forward – buying another storage bin won’t work, unless you do.
