Hi, everyone. So in this video, I’m going to share with you guys how to organize plastic storage containers inside your kitchen cabinets. So maybe you have a whole cabinet that’s bursting with lids and bottoms of food containers and it’s just very hard to keep organized. I’m going to show you how I organize Tupperware to make it really easy to access, to know what you have, and to make putting leftovers away less frustrating. So let me grab the camera and show you guys exactly what I’ve done.

So this is the cabinet where I keep all of my plastic food containers. Now, it has lids to my pots also because my pots are in this cabinet over here which I’m going to save for another video, How to Organize Pots & Pans. But this is really what I want to show you guys. I want to show you this and then I want to show you up here.

How To Organize Food Storage Containers And Tupperware

This is a pullout organizer that’s made for cabinets. Now, it’s not necessarily made to hold Tupperware and storage containers but I just like to use it for this purpose because I thought it would work perfectly.

How To Organize Food Storage Containers And Tupperware

What I’ve done in my kitchen, besides install this organizer, is I organized all of my plastic food storage containers by size and then I put all the bottoms together and all the tops together. So in the back, I have all of my larger tops in the very back section then there is a divider- kind of dividing them up. Large tops are in the back and then I have my medium-size tops in the middle and my smaller tops are in the front. So when I’m coming to grab a container I can say, “Oh, do I need a small, medium, or large?” And then go to that exact location.

I did the same thing with the bottoms too. I have all the mediums at the very bottom of the front section and then I have the smaller ones nested inside. Next, I have all of the large containers at the very top of the cabinet, because they didn’t really fit nicely into the Tupperware Organizer.

Now, I have another one, I think I have like two more of that are actually in the fridge right now being used. So those go in the empty space.

I like how the food containers are easy to access. They’re just very easy to access. And when you store the bottoms separate from the tops, it saves a lot of space. This entire organized cabinet saves a lot of space and makes everything easy to access!

Now, do you have to use the same product that I used to get the same look inside of your cabinet for organizing your storage containers? No, absolutely not. I just really like this one. When I saw it in the store, I just knew this was going to work so beautifully because I saw the dividers, I saw that they were adjustable and flexible and I knew that was exactly what I was looking for in order to contain all my lids by size and separate them from the bottoms. So that’s why I got it.

Ideas for Organizing Plastic Containers

Now, if you want to know more information about the product, you can visit my website, Alejandra.TV. There are more details there. But if you don’t want to get the product and you want to get the same look inside of your cabinet, what you can do is you can just use containers. You could even use storage containers to contain & organize all your food storage lids.

What I would do is I would just use one of these bigger containers and I stack all of the lids the same way inside of the bigger one container. I would probably keep all my large lids together and then my mediums and smalls in a separate container. And then I would nest like the medium-size containers and the small containers. Nest these ones inside of another large container or if you don’t want to use these containers, you could just get another container and nest them inside of those.

So there are other ways to organize your Tupperware containers without having to go out and get another product. I just like this one and I knew it was going to meet the needs of what I was looking for.

So something else you want to think about when you’re organizing all of your Tupperware or your food storage containers is when you’re organizing them, you want to only put back the pieces that go together. So you only want to put back bottoms that actually have a lid that works and lids that actually go to a bottom that like click or clasp nicely.

If you have like random lids that are inside of your cabinet that don’t have a bottom to them, ask yourself, “Why am I keeping these lids?” Like maybe you can repurpose them in some creative way. But if you’re not using them and they’re just taking up space inside your cabinet and you don’t have a lot of space, then consider pulling them out because you’re not using them because they don’t have bottoms.

And something else I want you guys to think about is, think about how many containers you actually need. Like when was the last time you used all of your containers inside of the refrigerator? Like for me, I’ve never used all of my containers at once inside my refrigerator and was left with an empty Tupperware cabinet. Like that’s never happened to me.

So when I was going through and organizing all of my containers, I pulled out I think like five or six old containers that I never used that I’m going to repurpose and put in the garage to organize, I’m not sure yet. If I don’t use them in the garage, I’ll use them in some kind of closet or in the office. I’m not sure.

But consider pulling out the ones that if you have too many and you aren’t using, just take those out, repurpose them, or if you can’t find to use them recycle them. But just don’t keep too many. Like ask yourself, how many do you really need?

That’s how I’m organizing all of my food storage containers. Everything is very easy to access. It’s visible so I know what I have. It’s easy to put away, easy to grab, and it’s working for me.

If you are looking to organize all your plastic food storage containers, I hope this video was helpful. If you want to know what products I use or you want to see more pictures of the space that I just showed you guys, you can visit my website at Alejandra.TV. And I’ll see you guys soon. Bye!
